Winnie Buckley R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of a member of our Salford family; Winnie Buckley died on Monday evening. 
Winnie travelled to Lourdes with us for a number of years and was a popular member of our pilgrimage community. 
Please remember Winnie and her family in your prayers. Winnie's funeral will take place at Salford Cathedral, on Tuesday 13th June at 12.10pm.

Services for Manchester in Lourdes

Manchester Attack

We continue to join in prayer with the people of Manchester for all those killed, injured and affected by the horrific attack at Manchester Arena, along with the emergency services and the people of Manchester who responded so quickly to provide assistance to those in need. We also remember those families who are anxiously waiting for news of loved ones who are still unaccounted for following the attack.

Fundraising Dinner at Rivington Barn

Join us at Rivington Barn, Horwich, Bolton on Thursday 15th June for a fundraising dinner in aid of our pilgirmage nursing team. Funds raised on the night will go towards travel and accomodation for nurses volunteering with us on this year's pilgrimage. The guest speaker on the night is Dr. Kevin Jones, consultant physician and comedian. The dinner is taking place in the beautiful Rivington Barn in Horwich. Tickets are £35 which includes a 3 course meal and tea/coffee. 

Paul Daly R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of a member of our Salford family; Paul Daly died suddenly on Tuesday evening. 
Paul travelled to Lourdes with us for a number of years and was a very popular member of our pilgrimage community. Please remember Paul and his family in your prayers. We will post funeral arrangements when we have them.

Deadline for Volunteer applications

Our deadline for all volunteer applications is Sunday 30th April. Our final DBS clinic for those who need a new DBS check is on Sunday 23rd April, 12.00 at Cathedral Centre.

We would like to ask you do two things for us over Easter.
1. Download and fill in your volunteer application form from the website www.salfordlourdes.co.uk.
2. Ask a friend / family member / colleague to consider volunteering with us in Lourdes this Summer. Alternatively, how about joining us as a pilgrim?

Nurses 500 mile cycle!

Next Saturday, (8th April), two members of our pilgrimage Medical team will be setting off on a gruelling 500 mile cycle to raise money for HCPT. 

Danny Meredith and Paul O'Neill have been training hard in preparation for the popular biennial event which will see riders travelling the 500 miles from Versailles to Lourdes from 8th to 14th April.

World Day of Prayer for Young People

On Saturday the 8th April we are celebrating the World Day of prayer for young people as requested by Pope Francis.
Bishop John will be speaking and will also be the main celebrant for the Palm Sunday Youth Mass at 4pm.
Come along and join young people from across the diocese for this special celebration.

Damien Louden - Ministry of Acolyte

We'd like to send our congratulations to Damien Louden, who received the Ministry of Acolyte on the 16th March at the Pontifical Beda College in Rome. This is a big step for Damien on his road to becoming a priest. Damien was joined at the ceremony by Fr. Michael Deas and Rev. Mark Paver who are also currently studying in Rome at the Venerable English College. 

Please keep Damien and all our seminarians in your prayers.

Induction for Medical & Nursing Team

The induction session for doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants will take place this Saturday morning (11th) at Cathedral Centre, 10am -1pm. This session is mandatory for those wishing to join our medical team in Lourdes this year.

We are still very much in need of volunteers to join our medical team so if you are a doctor, registered nurse or qualified healthcare assistant then please do consider joining us in Lourdes this Summer. Financial assistance is available to those involved in healthcare on our pilgrimage. Thank you.
